Doug Newberg

Staff Shooter

Doug began shooting a bow at a young age as an archery hunter. This became a family sport which turned into much more when Brenden began to compete competitively and encouraged Doug to do it also, so they could shoot together. He started out in BHFS, before making the switch to Freestyle to compete on the same level as Brenden and fellow archers. He had mostly shot in local tournaments, but then began shooting more.

He has done Redding the last 2 years, Klamath Falls Super Shoot and HDA Super Shoot for the last 2 well as most of the local tournaments. He did the Safari Shoot for the first time this last year.  He has competed in the Cascade Archery Tour the last 2 years. Won 3rd last year and maybe this year too, if I calculated it right? (But you would know the answer to that...LOL). He won 3rd Place at the Eastern Oregon Challenge last year.

This year he competed in the PNW Shoot Up Tour and the OBH Triple Crown, placing 5th. He also helps HDA and Bend Bowmen with setting up and tearing down of their shoots. He has also helped with the clearing of the new Bend Bowmen outdoor range.
